But in all it was a fun time that included a wide variety of characters including Superheroes, Aliens, Mercenaries, Sorcerers, Vampires and Rock ‘n Roll Teenagers. Today I take a look back at 15 movies and their subsequent collected edition or other periodical tie-ins.

On Tuesday a 3rd grader brought a fully loaded semi-automatic handgun to my son’s school. At recess he showed it off on the playground and other kids promptly told the teachers. The boy ran inside and hid the gun in a pencil box in his desk. He was caught very quickly, tragedy was averted and no one got hurt. Incidentally my 10-year-old son, Patrick, was near by on the basketball court when all this went down. Today on the show I talk about this very scary situation, what is being done and what I am doing as a parent. This topic doesn’t really have to do anything with comics, but it in the past 24 hours it has made me realize that perhaps there is too much violence in my household. This includes video games, movies and my comic book collection – specifically my near complete run of everything Punisher. I don’t have the answers nor do I want to come across like I’m preaching. It’s just that it hit very close to home yesterday and I need to get some things off my chest including what positive steps I can do on my part.

For the past few weeks you’ve listened to me go on and on about the Marvel Illustrated books: Who is the core audience? How well do they sell? Why publish them in the first place? Today we get right to the heart of the matter in an interview with comic Legend and Writer of the series, Roy Thomas. I had a wonderful time in talking with Roy and he is very candid and really opens up about the project.

As far as the rest of the show goes, I talk about the new Watchmen (no, not the trailer) Motion Comic on iTunes, what’s happening with the TwoMorrows Publishing, the Tune-In Podcast and San Diego, and my neighbors’ Steve podcast, Airspeed.

The greatest performance of the Joker ever on screen and the theatrical origin of Harvey Dent into Two-Face. Today on the show we celebrate all of it with the collected editions of the two main villains of the film.
