SDCC 2011 Day 4: Collected Editions News

It’s Sunday and the final day of Comic Con, but fear not, more news will be revealed throughout the week. Let’s a take a look at what we have today:

This tidbit of news came across as a comment in my SDCC Day 3 post, but I felt it to be so important that it should be up front:
First Comics

  • Max Allan Collins announced the entire run of Ms. Tree will be collected in new volumes. This is very interesting because fans of the series have been waiting years for a good full set of reprints. The series has been with four different publishers: Eclipse Comics, Aardvark-Vanaheim, Renegade Press and finally, and DC Comics. It was rumored a few years back that DC was going to do a series of hardcovers, but it never came about. – My thanks to Andrew for the info, you can read more on Collins’ blog

Boom! Studios

  • Announced will be The Show Must Go On, collecting Roger Langridge’s uncollected strips. No other info provided – Thanks Rich, Bleeding Cool

Dark Horse

  • Announced a new edition of Jim Steranko’s Chandler: Red Tide (1976). It’s done in the same style of Prince Valiant – graphics and text blocks without word balloons. Expect a sneak peek in Dark Horse Presents #3. – Thanks to Tom, Comics Reporter and Geeks of Doom

Industry

  • Scott Westerfield announced a manga adaptation of his sci-fi novel series Uglies starting in May next year. It will be drawn by Steven Cumming and will be four books of 200 pages each. It’s unknown if Simon Pulse will be the publisher. – Thanks to Rich, Bleeding Cool who also has a few pics
