Back for another week and a jam packed show. I let you know all about the vidcast of Hero Envy, and from DB Productions XIII, and the new Frank Cho Liberty Meadows: Cover Girl book coming out.
DC and Marvels solicits came out this week and all of it can be found on the Release Schedule, which is entirely up-to-date.
Lot’s of New Releases to go over this week including a ton of Superman DVD’s as one would expect.
I had great feedback from a lot of you regarding my last podcast and the Great Comic Book Heroes book. Keep them coming, I’d love to know what you think of the book and if someone other then me owns it with a dustjacket.
A great question from Lynn about canceled monthly books and how and if they could be saved by putting out the Trades. We can discuss it further on the forum.
Thanks to everyone for your e-mails me and keep them coming and please write me and tell me what your favorite Superman trade is.
For the feature this week I go over all of the Superman Archive Editions including Superman, Action Comics, World’s Finest, Man of Tomorrow. Supergirl, the Superman Chronicles and the Showcases, Superman 1 and 2 and Superman Family 1.
I also announce the winner for the Dark Knight Returns trade and as promised I do have one more giveaway for the month of June, Crisis On Multiple Earths Volume 1 trade paperback. But you have to listen to find out how to enter.

Just an FYI, the Release Schedule is all up-to-date with the DC solicits for October and Marvel for September, as well as all the other comic book companies through the end of the year.
I have also updated the Marvel Masterworks and Marvel Essentials checklists. I’ll get the DC ones, done on Wednesday.
Lastly, I’m still working on a new Table of Contents for The Great Comic Book Heroes book, as I said I would.
For all you Judge Parker fans out there, artist Harold LeDoux has retired and has been replaced by Eduardo Barretto, who has worked on Superman, Wonder Woman and Batman and several graphic novels from ONI Press
Also, Detroit Free Press ran a front page article in its’ Business section today titled Comic Books Draw On Ads, about corporate product placement in mainstream comic books from DC and Marvel. The article also talks about the upcoming Rush City from DC and Marvels deal with Dodge.
The Free Press also runs another article about the upcoming Metal Gear Solid Digital Graphic Novel.
On a site note, the entire Release Schedule has been updated to the best of my knowledge. I’ll be back later tonight to update it even further with DC solicitations for September.

A much shorter show this week. I now have the exact date and time of the Comic Podcast Panel at the San Diego Comic Con and I also tell you who else will be on the panel with me.
I have an e-mail from one of my regulars, Shane and I even have a new question of the week.
The feature this week is Jules Feiffer’s The Great Comic Book Heroes. If you’re interested in comic book history, you’ll really want this book on your shelf.
Lastly I want to congratulate James McGhie the winner of the Avengers Volume 1 Marvel Masterworks. I do have a giveaway contest for this week, but you have to listen to find out how to enter.
sixstringguild over on the Forum wrote to tell me of the forthcoming Infinite Crisis Companion Trade Paperback due out in October. So far I only know that is book will contain the Villains United: Infinite Crisis Special because that is what the cover of the Infinite Crisis Companion Trade is. So it is reasonable to assume that the other three Infinite Crisis Specials will be collected, too: The OMAC Project, Rann-Thanagar War, and Day of Vengeance.
I would also hope that since DC is collecting these specials, this book would also contain the Infinite Crisis Secret Files, however, I doubt that it would contain Countdown to Infinite Crisis because that book was already reprinted in the OMAC Trade Paperback.
I’ll keep you up-to-date on this matter.
