After months of keeping silent, I can finally tell you that my next Collected Edition rundown project will be for Back Issue! 61 – Tabloids and Treasuries. Here is the full solicit:
BACK ISSUE #61 (84 page TABLOID-SIZE SPECIAL ISSUE with color section, $10.95, December 2012) takes a big look at “Tabloids and Treasuries,” spotlighting the Bronze Age’s BIGGEST comic books! Including every all-new tabloid from the 1970s, and a checklist of reprint treasury editions. Superman vs. the Amazing Spider-Man, The Bible, Captain America’s Bicentennial Battles, The Wizard of Oz, even the PAUL DINI/ALEX ROSS World’s Greatest Super-Heroes editions—they’re all here! With commentary from and/or art by NEAL ADAMS, JOSE LUIS GARCIA-LOPEZ, MIKE GRELL, JACK KIRBY, JOE KUBERT, SHELDON MAYER, JOHN ROMITA, SR., ALEX TOTH, and more. Featuring a reimagining of Grell’s Superboy and the Legion of Super-Heroes Limited Collectors’ Edition wraparound cover by Alex Ross! Edited by MICHAEL EURY. (NOTE: This issue published in the oversized tabloid format.)
You can pre-order this now through the TwoMorrows website or with your online or LCS very soon. Look for it in Previews.
This will be my third project for Back Issue and TwoMorrows. The other two being:
Back Issue! 44: Spider-Man In The Bronze Age and Back Issue! 50: Batman In The Bronze Age. I even have another super project that’s being worked on now, but unfortunately I can’t say what it is. For now enjoy the awesome, new Alex Ross artwork (above) and compare it to the original done by Mike Grell for Limited Collectors’ Edition #C-49, in 1976.
