DC Comics Collected Editions November 2011 Solicitations

DC Comics has released their November 2011 Solicitations.
The biggest surprise has to be the reprint of DC Comics Presents: Elseworlds 80-Page Giant #1. First published in June 1999, the book was quickly pulled of shelves due the the controversial Letitia Lerner, Superman’s Babysitter by Kyle Baker, co-written with Liz Glass. It won the 2000 Eisner Award, Best Short Story and was reprinted in Bizarro Comics HC, but oddly enough the rest of the 80-Page Giant never saw print and demanded over $100 on eBay! The Superman Jr. is No More! story by Bob Haney and Kieron Dwyer eventually did see print in Batman/Superman: Saga of the Super Sons TPB (2007). I did a podcast feature on the Super-Sons back in November 2010.

It’s also nice to see, not one but, two Archives on the list: Batman Volume 8 and MAD Volume 3 (of 4). You may recall that Volume 1 was released in 2002 and Volume 2 followed in 2007. That’s one every 5 years! Well, at least DC is consistent.

Let’s take a look at the other Collected Editions:
