Hi - In the description of the Dark Horse omnibus of Marvel's John Carter, Warlord of Mars, you note that the art is reprinted in black and white, which is correct. Does the new Marvel John Carter, Warlord of Mars Omnibus (Hardback) reprint the art in color? I cannot find this specifically stated in any sales descriptions. Thanks!

Good summary of the character's publishing history. One additional detail: the Tarzan/John Carter series was preceded by short prologue (also done by Bruce Jones and Bret Blevins) that was published by Dark Horse in San Diego Comic Con Comics #4. Something more to include, in case they eventually do a trade paperback.

Great list! Just a heads-up about one you missed: I believe the collected edition of Marvel's recent adaptation of A Princess of Mars, written by myself and illustrated by Filipe Andrade, will be out any day now. (I got my copies in the mail a few days ago.)

I was reading a comment on another site where a person said they'd stopped reading DC Comics entirely with the New 52 after 30 years of collecting. Quite astounding to me -- they cited the lack of legacy heroes, like not having a JSA, but this was well after the Earth 2 rumors had sprung up. Just seemed short-sighted to me -- I mean, to stop reading DC books because the DC Universe more resembles now, to an extent, what it did prior to Crisis on Infinite Earths, is to ignore that the very elements that the fan liked were themselves changes set on top of DC's original continuity; y'know, everyone gets their turn and it was "legacy"'s turn for a while, and now it's Earth 2's. I can't see just tossing thirty years of collecting because DC's going another, precedented route for a while.

Were we talking about Watchmen? Ah, yes. There, to drop DC Comics altogether after umpteen years of collecting puzzles me even more. Watchmen is a significant aspect of DC's history and an important story in its own right, but to say "I'm never reading Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, etc., etc." because of what DC's doing in regards to one single book also boggles my mind as much as it does yours. Everybody has their favorite book, of course, but neither the New 52 nor Before Watchmen makes sweeping enough changes, in my mind, to warrant total abandonment.

Never said he wasn't. I like his work very much! It's just that I've seen posts from people saying they won't buy his Dr. Manhattan or Nite Owl just despite his recent Superman and Wonder Woman work. That's not my position, I have other reasons.
