Collected Edition news hasn’t been that forthcoming. That’s to be expected this time of year, but you can bet that some news (and rumors) will start trickling out now that convention season will be starting with the New York Comic Con in less then 30 days. In the meantime, here are a few links for you to pursue:
- The Forbidden Planet Blog is always full of great and useful information. This week is no exception including tidbit on a possible Absolute Prometha, another planned FPI Alan Moore interview by
Pádraig Ó Méalóid (who BTW needs your questions!), and even a special little gem from me – thanks Joe! - 2008 Top 10 Graphic Novels and Trade Paperback (Collected Editions).
- Walt Disney which recently released their first The Walt Disney Animation Studios The Archive Series with Story, will be publishing follow-ups that include: Animation (October 2009), Layouts and Backgrounds (2010), and Concept Art (2011).
Disney will also continue to publish other books about its animation heritage like this past October’s Disney Editions – Don Hahn’s The Alchemy of Animation: Making an Animated Film in the Modern Age. Also, animation historian John Canemaker is writing a new book called Two Guys Named Joe (2010) about animation story men Joe Grant and Joe Ranft. - Complete Free Comic Book Day checklist released.
