CCL Podcast #304 – C2E2 Wrap Up

Collected Comics Library Podcast #304
28,010Kb; 29m 46s

I had a wonderful time at the 2011 C2E2 (Chicago Comics and Entertainment Expo). I got to reminisce with old friends, meet new and great, collected edition minded people, rubbed elbows with the big wigs of the industry and even was fortunate enough to be a part of the Comics Podcasting Panel with Chris Nesemen (11 O’Clock Comics), Josh Flanagan (iFanboy), Brion Salazar (Around Comics), Jim Segulin (Raging Bullets), Peter Rios (Comic Geek Speak), Stevie Disme (Comic Book Queers) and John Siuntres (Word Balloon). John did record the panel, and I encourage you all to take a hour out of your day and listen to the fun and very candid conversation. You should also note that it is not work safe.

Also on today’s show I get caught up with some newly solicited books including the ever-increasing Geoff Johns Omnibus Library from DC and the massive Dark Tower set from Marvel Comics.

Lastly, I had a nice talk with Dan Didio at C2E2 and I tell you what that’s all about and even what I bought at the show.

  1. Great news about “Night Force” finally getting a collected edition. One of my favorite series of the early 80`s with great art by Gene Colan. With so much wonderful work coming out during that period,it often got overshadowed. Is there a set date for release? Also, did anyone ever collect Gray Morrow`s beautiful work on the Tarzan strip of the 90`s?Not having work by this underrated artist available is criminal.

  2. Another good podcast from Chris. Missed it during it’s absence. It’s nice to listen to a host talk about something he loves and is relaxed and natural while recording. I wish there were podcasts like this when I was a kid. Chris is a cool guy and I loved hearing the shout out to the Comic Book Queers.
Keep up the good work, Chris. And don’t make us wait so long between podcasts!

P.S. Can you get Twomorrows to do some new podcasts?

    1. Steve from CBQ is a great guy and always freak’n hilarious!
Unfortunately, for now, I’m going to stick with a new podcast every other week. I’m jammed up at work and home, so the break gives me time to read more and keep sane, LOL.
Look for more blog posts and especially my weekly Sunday Review.
We also have great discussions on the CCL Facebook page.
The TwoMorrows Podcast is on a bit of a hiatus right now, but we hope to get more out now that it’s Con season.
