Collected Comics Library Podcast #269
27,433Kb; 29m 09s
It’s that time of year again: the kickoff of the Summer Blockbusters!
Iron Man 2 came out last week and I pick up where I left off two years ago with a rundown of Iron Man Collected Editions that have been published since the first movie. A lot has come out: Classic material from Tales Of Suspense, New trades of the entire Armor Wars Saga, his Heroes Return in the late 1990’s and his current run (which is to be expected). I tell you what to buy and what to hold off on and even what you may want to purchase as a digital edition. Speaking of digital, check out my review of the Iron Man Central App over at my sister site DGTL Comics.
Also on the show this week there are printing concerns with the recent Absolute GL Rebirth, advanced notice on The Flash: The Dastardly Death Of The Rogues and War of Supermen hardcovers and the passing of Frank Frazetta. Finally a reminder that the Motor City Con is this weekend May 14-16 and the Summit City Con is May 22.
All this including the New Releases of the Week.

Chris,
Thanks for the great work! (I don’t know how you find time to do all that you have done). I have enjoyed the interviews and reviews.
I have not been listening long and use the podcast to make the workday go by.
I started out as a fan of Batman, Spider-Man, Superman and Iron Man. I really liked Batman, Spider-man and Iron Man because they were people that I could relate to. Yah they were all a little off in some ways. Batman came from money and Iron Man made his money from the government-killing machine and Spider-man was a nerd who was in the wrong place at the right time. Well I see that they were all nerds with ingenuity. But most important they were a good read for this nerd.
Since Podcast #269 concerned Iron Man I will say that stories and art have gotten better through the years although more complex.
I would love to work for Tony Stark and help develop stuff that he does. He is a great example of what made America what it once was and should be an example to students what can be done with engineering, science and math. I sound like a commercial for some University, Sorry!
I see Tony could have been based on Howard Hughes as far as his drive to advance technology develop new things and have fun doing it. I don’t know for sure that Hughes was the model for Stark there are a number of similarities.
That is my two cents, I hope to find the time to see the Iron Man 2 movie before it goes to DVD.
I hope to make it to a convention some day and hope to meet you there.
Look forward to the next podcast and cast notes.
God Bless!
Jim
Jim, It’s hard to find the time especially now that the kids will be getting out for summer. I was going to get a Netbook (the Acer Aspire One, to be exact) but I think I’m going to hold off and wait for a tablet of some sort, hopefully something running Android and not Apple. I dopn’t have any portable laptop and it would be nice to bring something to the local pool to work with while the kids are at play. I know I would be able to get much more work done.
Glad I can brighten your day.
Cheers, Chris
