Here at the Collected Comics Library, I tend to focus on the bigger companies. That’s no accident because they have such a huge share of the market, but I do my best to highlight some of the publishing efforts of the Independents. Today, is one of those days, as I sit down and talk with Chris Staros, Publisher of Top Shelf Productions. In the conversation we cover Alan Moore’s Lost Girls and The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen: Century, Jeff Lemire’s Essex Country Trilogy, The Surrogates, Marshal Law and so much more including a few upcoming books will sure find way onto your shelf like, Far Arden, Second Thoughts, and Moving Pictures. I want to thank Chris for taking time out of his busy schedule to come on the show.
Chris

[...] Publishing | Chris Marshall conducts a podcast interview with Top Shelf Productions’ Chris Staros covering Lost Girls, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen: Century, Essex County and more. [Collected Comics Library] [...]
I always dig the show, Chris, but this was one I especially appreciated. I’ve been looking forward to a number of Top Shelf’s books for this year. With the exception of LOEG, though, it doesn’t seem that Top Shelf’s stuff gets much coverage. It was great to hear the interview and get excited about these books.
When it was solicited a couple of months ago, I actually pre-ordered Lost Girls. It was the only time I’ve felt the need to check with my wife before a comics purchase–didn’t want any misunderstandings!
Any chance you could get someone from Fantagraphics or D&Q in the future?

Chris. This was a great podcast. I really enjoyed the interview and it has me really excited about some of the future Top Shelf releases . I am glad that Lost Girls is finally coming out at a reasonable price. It’s a book I have wanted to read for a while but was unable to bring myself to spend the required amount of money. Keep up the good work
