A year wait on the Powers trade…
It was pointed out to me on my Forum that the 11 month late Powers Trade is misspelled on the spine. Click on the picture for a larger image. Also on the Bendis Board is an open apology from C.B.Cebulski:
Sh*t! What a freakin’ godawful screw-up!
I’m a stickler when it comes to spelling and grammar and am one of those guys who gets so annoyed when I see it in comics and always think to myself, “How in the hell could anyone let that happen?!” And then this slips? Well, table have turned and I stand here red-faced now. And on the spine, no less!
Yes, we royally screwed up on this one. Two editors, one designer, one proofreader and Brian all looked this over, on nyumnerous occasions, and we all missed the misspelling of “Coismic”. But I’m not passing the buck here. As the editor with final sign-off, this was my responsibility and the blame rests fully on my shoulders.
So if you want to laugh, and poke fun, and call someone an idiot for this, direct all those comments my way. I messed this one up, no one else. We’re in the process of fixing it, but the book is out there and there’s no taking it back now. This missplelling is my cross to bear from here on out.
I do offer my sincere apologies to Brian, Mike, Pete, Chris E., the rest of the Powers team, and of course to all the fans for cocking this up.

I admit I did get a chuckle out of this. But now I’m just saddened by the whole thing. Care and consideration is done in the editing rooms in all companies and when work is not double and triple checked we all lose out. Forums everywhere will now ask if Cebulski or any of his staff will be fired or held accountable in some way in the same manner that Bob Greenberger was held accountable for the Golden Age Hawkman incident. I can’t say either way. But I just hope that lessons are learned from this. It’s a big deal to of had this happen and right now Marvel doesn’t look so good. Stay tuned.
