Almanac
- John Celardo (December 27, 1918 – January 6, 2012) – was an American comic strip and comic book artist, best known for illustrating the Tarzan comic strip. He also worked on Tales of the Green Beret and the daily Buz Sawyer comic strip.
- Richard Alf (1953 – January 5, 2012) – was an American businessman and former comic book store owner. Alf became the co-founder and chairman of the San Diego Comic-Con International beginning in 1970.
- Winifred Milius Lubell (June 14, 1914 – January 3, 2012) – was an American illustrator and writer. Milius’ most notable publications include the illustrations for Dorothy Sterling’s Cape Cod natural history book The Outer Lands.
- Vicar, a pseudonym for Victor Arriagada Rios (April 16, 1934 – January 3, 2012) – was a Chilean cartoonist and worked for Disney.

- Young Romance: The Best of Simon & Kirby’s Romance Comics – Previews, Pre-Order – As reported a few weeks ago, this is not the same line of reprints from Titan, but it’s going to be good none-the-less.
- Titan Books Announces Simon & Kirby Sci-Fi & Horror Titles – Speaking of Titan, here we have two new books for 2012. Science Fiction should be released in the Fall and Horror will follow shortly thereafter and collect the gruesome Black Magic (Prize Comics).
- The Life and Death of Fritz the Cat by Robert Crumb – Previews, Pre-Order – Like most of you, I saw Fritz the Cat in college. Ah, college.
- Visions of 2012 – Parker: The Score – I have the first two hardcovers and I’ll be picking up this third.
- The Complete Ed The Happy Clown by Chester Brown this Spring – Never heard of it, but it seems to be interesting.
- The Art of Craig Elliott Bookplate with Sketch Update and The Art of Craig Elliott Book Video Preview – More great books from Flesk.
- A six foot tall wall of 120 packages containing the new Bruce Timm book – Man, that’s a lot of books!
- Gray Morrow’s ORION to also include EDGE OF CHAOS – I can’t wait for this book. I’ll be recording my long awaited tribute to Gray Morrow when this gets published.
- The United States Constitution: A Graphic Adaptation, published by Writers of the Round Table Press – Besides, comic books and sports, I love politics.
- A Peyo Art Book for March (NBM) – And here I thought Peyo only did Smurfs.
