- Himanish Goswami (1926–14 March 2012) – was an Indian writer and cartoonist.
- Noboru Ishiguro (石黒昇, Ishiguro Noboru, 24 August 1938–20 March 2012) – was a Japanese animator who was noteworthy for directing the anime series, Space Battleship Yamato and more.
- Fran Matera (1924-15 March 2012) – an illustrator who worked in both comic strips and comic books including a long run on the Steve Roper and Mike Nomad daily, died on March 15 in Safety Harbor, Florida. He was surrounded by members of his family.
