The Baltimore Comic Con was this past weekend. Among all the news and features, both DC and Image had some very cool stuff to announce and talk about. I’ll go over them in the next podcast, due out later this week.(My thanks to Aziz)

  • DC Comics
    • Are there more Legion, Flash or Justice League Archives coming? Wayne said that when you get up to the issues that can be affordably bought by collectors the demand for the Archive Editions goes down. It’s something that they’re working on.
    • The full Absolute Sandman collection will run four volumes, Wayne said. Volume 2 has been printed and is in transit now.
    • When asked about the possibility of an Infinity Inc. collected edition, Wayne asked the fans who would buy it to raise their hands ” and not many hands went up. That’s the problem, Wayne said, there’s not that much demand.
    • Will there be a new release date for the Captain Carrot Showcase edition? Wayne said that hopefully all will get new release dates, given that “we screwed up some stuff” and shouldn’t have announced them until we were sure everything was ready to go. Wayne said that it would be the second half of 2008 before the previously announced books would show up.
    • Are there plans for Jack Knight or an Absolute Starman? Wayne: “Will you see Starman available again in the future? I suspect you will, but the format isn’t set.”
    • DiDio: “Will you see Jack Knight again? Defintely.”
    • Will there be a 52 Absolute Edition? Wayne: No plans for that at this time.
    • Will there be a new who’s who book gathering the back-ups to 52 and Countdown? Wayne: That’s one of the plans for them, and some will be online.
  • Image Comics
    • Also coming up is the PvP Awesomeology, which will collect all of the Image trades, as well as Kurt’s original Striptease collections, as well as pinups and original art. The volume will run nearly 600 pages and will be in a slipcase.
    • The Noble Causes Archives will be released in January or February, which will collect all of the Noble Causes series to date.
    • “I think I have five or six good issues of Liberty Meadows in me before I wrap that up, and then I’ll have a big, fat Liberty Meadows collection, with all of my collected stuff, including University Squared and Everything But the Kitchen Sink,” Cho said. “Which was a precursor to University Squared, which was a precursor to Liberty Meadows.”
