On today’s show, I dive into a book that many of us X-Men fans have wanted for a long time: a comprehensive collected edition of solo stories of X-Men members that took place between the cancelation of the title series with #66 and the team revival in Giant Sized X-Men #1. I get it started in Marvel Masterworks X-Men Volume 7, which primarily features The Beast from his run in Amazing Adventures. And I also go over some stories that should have been included, like the Angel storyline from Kazar #2-3 and Marvel Tales #30. Lastly, for this weeks feature I give a rundown of what we could possibly see in upcoming X-Men Masterworks. All this and so much more!
Chris

I’m sure an Omnibus will be on its way sooner or later. It looks like X-Men Omnibus #1 will be X-Men Masterworks 1-3. So my guess is X-Men Omnibus #2 will be X-Men Masterworks 4-6, and X-Men Omnibus #3, AKA the X-Men Solo Stories/Reprint Years, will be X-Men Masterworks 7-9 whenever they get all those cranked out. For whatever reason, Marvel seems to love putting everything out in Masterworks before putting out an Omnibus, unless it’s modern stuff. It’s the only reason I can think of why there isn’t an Uncanny X-Men Omnibus #2 out yet.
Luke also e-mailed me to remind me that the Angel stories from Kazar #2-3 and Marvel Tales #30 were indeed reprinted in MMW X-Men Vol. 5!
How could I have been so blind?!
One thing to point out on that note is that fact that those particular story credits are not represented on the cover nor the table of contents. You have to thumb through to the back of the book on page 263.
Thanks again, Luke!!!
