It’s Friday and I promised in this weeks podcast that I would be Blogging about something. It took me a while, but I did dig up a few links that you’ll find both informative and entertaining, not to mention an easy way to spend your cash this payday. - Random House’s Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia Slipcase HC, solicited as being two volumes, will now contain three volumes. As a result, the price of the item has changed from $75.00 to $125.00.
- Secret Wars Omnibus HC – Regular & Direct Market Editions ($99.99) will be 496 pages, not 384 pages.
- In gearing up for the Archie Heroes revival at DC Comics next year, Newsarama has put together the first part of a pseudo Who’s Who. Characters include: The Shield, The Comet and The Web.
- Liza Donnelly and Michael Maslin, a cartoonist couple for The New Yorker, have a collected edition of their work due out in early 2009. It will be titled Cartoon Marriage: Adventures in Love and Matrimony.
- IDW Publishing will be republishing Kevin Colden’s Fishtown in a Deluxe Hardcover this November.

- Heidi MacDonald has all the news that’s fit to print on the recent Diamond Retailer Summit. Collected Edition highlights include:
- Radical will publish oversized hardcovers of Hercules and Caliber this November and will be $19.95. Trade Paperbacks will follow four to six months after that.
- In gearing up for the live action Dragonball Z movie, Viz will offer two box sets (one for each Dragonball line) as well as large hardcover collector’s edition which will retail for $19.99. Viz will also publish collector’s editions of these three titles, Bleach, Death Note and Naruto offering the first three volumes of each series in a large hardcover edition.
- Marvel and Icon says Volume Two of Powers will end with #30. Volume Three will begin late next year, will have guaranteed shipping dates, and that the interim will feature hardcovers, paperbacks, and an “Art of” book.
- The current Voltron series from Devils Due Publishing will be collected in Spring.
- Beanworld (Dark Horse) launched recently on MySpace, will be collected.
- Marvel’s Greatest Collections will be getting a second issue. It is a comic/backlist catalog of some of the highlights of Marvel’s trade paperback and hardcover collected editions.
- Locke & Key Hardcover – Official Press Release. IDW will release it on October 1. It features the first six-issue storyline, a complete cover gallery, conceptual sketches by Gabriel Rodriguez, and an all-new introduction from best-selling mystery novelist Robert Crais.
