Collected Comics Library Podcast #39
15,051 Kb; 32m 06s
Hey everyone, Thanks for sticking by me in my hour of need. I feel a ton better.
So well in fact that I changed up the .xml feed so I can get back on iTunes.
I go over the usual New releases and as promised, Shazam! From the 40s to the 70s (just give me a day to finish up the cover credits). I also go over the Four new Masterworks for January and February and a gripe I have with the Batman Begins DVD.
Bruce from Komics Kast, Aaron from SciFiDig and Mikel O.D. from Most People Are DJ’s for the great Comics Crosserover Podcast. Here’s the direct .mp3 link.
And finally, a small Motor City Comic Con sight-seeing tour.
Cheers!
Chris
Time Magazine Book critics Lev Grossman and Richard Lacayo recently published their list of the 100 Best English-Language Novels from 1923 to the present, and the graphic novel didn´t go unrepresented. Alan Moore and Dave Gibbon´s landmark WATCHMEN made it onto the list, joining such modern literary stalwarts as The Catcher in the Rye, The Grapes of Wrath, The Sun Also Rises, and 1984.
A few Podcasts ago I talked about Comics on DVD-Rom. A few new titles are coming your way:
January: 40 YEARS OF THE AVENGERS
…Collecting more than 550 classic issues of Marvel´s super-hot super-group!
February: 40 YEARS OF THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN, v2.0
…Now digitally re-mastered on a single DVD-ROM with 2,500 additional pages!
March: 50 YEARS OF MAD MAGAZINE
…celebrate Alfred E. Neuman’s 50th Birthday on April 1, 2006
And don´t forget that 40 YEARS OF X-MEN DVD ROM is coming out November 14
Lastly, Marvel has issued a press release with images, regarding the new MAXIMUM FANTASTIC FOUR book by Walter Mosely.
